Our ministry team
Our communities and churches are well supported by a ministry team who serve together with the Rector and can be found around the Benefice supporting our many worship services.
Revd Canon Philip Howson is Rector to the Benefices, leads the ministry team, and lives in Tilbrook. When he’s not vicaring, you might see him running, walking the dogs, or in a local pub. The beard is optional.
If you need to get in touch with members of the team, please contact Philip in the first instance.

Children and Families Minister position vacant – could this be you?
Revd Dr John Rawlinson served for many years as a local GP, was Chaplain to Churchill College, and has been self-supporting minister for over 30 in our area. He has a particular love of all things St Botolph, is a wonderful orator and combines great compassion and skill in supporting those in need.
Revd Pamela Soult moved from Cheshire after a decade of ordained ministry and is now settled in Kimbolton. She now shares an impressive breadth of experience in life and ministry with us. Amongst other things, she leads a house group, is a Spiritual Director with Ely Diocese, leads retreats, and works with the Outreach Team in Kimbolton.
Revd Cathy Brazier is Chaplain to Kimbolton School and has a busy full-time ministry there after some years in parish ministry. We are grateful that she also leads worship with our churches on occasion.
Michael O’Callaghan is a Licenced Lay Minister based in Catworth following a career as a civil servant. He leads worship and has an impressive funeral and pastoral ministry.
Jon Saunders can be seen leading worship in our churches. He’s a former secondary school teacher, which he shared with many years supporting christian youth camps. John loves to preach and when he’s in the pulpit makes every effort to be biblical, informal, challenging and relevant.
Along with Jenny and Philip, he leads our Youth Church
Jenny Saunders is a pastoral worker in the team having taught primary age children for many years. Jenny hosts a house group and works on our Youth Church with Philip and Jon.
Clare Firby is a pastoral worker in the team with a focus on bereavement support as well as working within the Kimbolton Outreach team. She retired as a chemistry teacher in 2023 and is loving developing her faith and ministry. She’s married to the lovely Joe and they can be seen around Kimbolton.
Jenny Firth is currently training as an Authorised Lay Minister (Pastoral Care), but has an established role developing divorcee support groups with her 221 ministry.
Clare Howe is a teacher at Brington School and is leader of Woodland Worship, held once every half-term, Saturday mornings in the woods behind Brington School. She is also working with Philip to create some kind of “Children’s PCC” in the school, so our young people shape our life together.
You can contact her through the school on 01832 710383
Angela Deavall is training as a Licenced Lay Minister and on behalf of our Joint Council is a Foundation Governor of Brington School. She has her own business in cosmetics, and particularly loves leading festival services.
Although he retired from ministry in 2023, we also celebrate the long service of Revd Ron Lancaster MBE whose life has incorporated Chaplain of Kimbolton School, chemistry teacher, and founder of Kimbolton Fireworks. Our Master Blaster Pastor is now quietly living in Kimbolton.
