A church with a mermaid… but not Stow Longa!
It turns out that St Botolph’s isn’t the only church that has a carving of a mermaid… so does St Senara’s Church in Cornwall:

This has been rescheduled due to the incredibly hard ground and the difficulties people are experiencing splitting their wonderful contributions. It will now take place on 1st June, 2019, on the village green from 10:30am to midday.
Plants, pickles, preserves and cake donations would be welcomed for the new date! All money raised will go towards Friends of St Botolph. Donations can be brought along in the morning or left at Fox Earth in advance.
Bring along your gardening tools and gloves to help tidy up the outside of the church and churchyard. This is a very popular event where the whole family can join in and get everything looking its best for St Botolph’s Day. Pulled pork rolls and homemade cakes will be provided, together with cold drinks.
Join us in the church for a joint Benefice service to celebrate our Patron’s Day. Refreshments will be served after the service. See also the Services page.
With thanks to Lynda Dack for some of the photos
Following the recent ‘Springwatch’ evening the PCC have decided to change the schedule of regular services at St. Botolph’s to include a monthly ‘Messy Church’ service on the second Sunday of each month, at 3.30pm in winter and 6.00pm in summer.
On June 9th 2013 at 6.00pm we’ll be celebrating our ‘patronal festival’ (St Botolph’s Day is June 17th) with a lively service and a bring and share tea. All welcome!
