Aims and Constitution of the Joint Council
The Leightonstone Churches Joint Council is a body created between our benefices which is delegated by them to focus on mission and ministry to younger generations in our communities. It will leads on, facilitates, and collaborates with parishes in the following parish functions:
- Mission and ministry which will include:
Evangelism, pastoral care, discipleship, the development of new worshipping communities, and supporting local churches with targeted missional work
- Employment of officers working within the Benefices.
- Safeguarding
The Council will ensure all its activities comply with all necessary safeguarding requirements.
The Council may also appoint a Parish Safeguarding Officer (PSO) who may also act as PSO for participating parishes.
- Communications, publicity and promotional work.
- Collaboration with and support of parishes in worship development.
- Holding and administering monies connected with the discharge of functions 1-5.
